November 23, 2008Dear Bartender: What’s a good mixer for Bacardi? I like how fast it works to feel the effects but I can’t stand the taste. Rather than waste what’s left of the bottle, I’d like to numb the bite.

Dear BAM: Allow me my personal prejudices. The only good use I’ve found for rum is Bananas Foster. But to be honest, I’ve yet to try the intriguing-sounding Dark & Stormy. I suggest you try it and get back to me.

I love Bananas Foster. In fact, my favorite day at the cafeteria in college was not Omelette Station Day or Sunday Station Day, it was Bananas Foster Station Day. I should make it soon. Let’s have Bananas Foster Day soon!
Dark and Stormy is my best buddy’s favorite drink. I’ve never tried it, but she has pretty good taste…..

Well, in fact, she DOES taste good!!! But she also has excellent taste in food and drink……
You can’t go wrong with pineapple juice, or just mix it into a pina colada, using coconut-pineapple ice cream instead of pre-made mix in a blender. Sounds sweet and fou-fou, but it’s good!
